Azalea Melford Lemon is grown for its lovely form and profuse flowering. This hardy, deciduous shrub produces masses of bright, lemon-yellow flowers with an apricot flare from winter until late spring. It typically grows to 1.2 m tall and the same wide, growing best when planted in a semi-shade or full sun position on a well-drained, sheltered site. When grown in full sun it tends to be more compact. Plants are tolerant of frost and cold environments but do require good soil moisture levels during dry periods. When fertilising, avoid using lime as this will stunt plants. Azalea Melford Lemon is a great choice for container growing, planting under trees and shrubs, or planting anywhere a stunning plant is required.
