“Gumpo Salmon” is a variety of Azalea grown for its lovely form and profuse flowering. This hardy, evergreen shrub produces masses of showy and scented, light pink flowers with darker blushes through winter and late spring. It typically grows to 50 cm tall and the same wide, performing best when planted in partial shade or full sun on a well-drained, sheltered site. It is tolerant of moderate frost and cool climates but does require good soil moisture levels during dry periods. When fertilising avoid using lime as this will stunt or even kill plants. “Gumpo Salmon” is a great choice for container growing, adding to a mixed or border planting, planting around outdoor living areas, or including anywhere a stunning plant is required.
