“Garden Party” is a popular variety of Azalea due to its lovely form and profuse flowering through winter and spring. This hardy, evergreen shrub produces masses of large and showy, semi-double, bright pink blooms. It typically grows to 75 cm tall and the same wide, growing best when planted in a full sun or semi-shade position on a well-drained, sheltered site. When grown in full sun it tends to be more compact. Plants are tolerant of frost and cool climates, but do require good soil moisture levels during dry periods. When fertilising, avoid using lime as this will stunt or even kill plants. “Garden Party” is a great choice for adding to a mixed or border planting, planting around outdoor living areas such as pool and barbecue area, including in cottage gardens, or using anywhere a stunning plant is required. Mass planting provides for an amazing display with this variety.
