“Double White” is a variety of Azalea grown for its lovely form and profuse flowering. This hardy, evergreen shrub produces masses of elegant, double-white flowers from spring until autumn. It typically grows to 1 m tall and 1.2 m wide, growing best when planted in a semi-shade or full sun position on a well-drained, sheltered site. When grown in full sun it tends to be more compact. Plants are tolerant of frost but do require good soil moisture levels during dry periods. When fertilising, avoid using lime as this will stunt or even kill plants. “Double White” is a great choice for container growing, adding to a mixed or border planting, planting around outdoor living areas, including in cottage and “white” gardens, or using anywhere a stunning plant is required. A mass planting produces an amazing display.
