Azalea “Deutsche Perle” is grown for its lovely form and profuse flowering. This hardy, evergreen shrub produces masses of showy, pure white flowers from autumn through spring. It typically grows to 60 cm tall and the same wide, growing best when planted in a semi-shade or full sun position on a well-drained, sheltered site. When grown in full sun it tends to be more compact. Plants are tolerant of frost and cold environments but do require good soil moisture levels during dry periods. When fertilising, avoid using lime as this will stunt or even kill the plants. “Deutsche Perle” is a great choice for container growing, including in cottage gardens, adding to a mixed and border planting, planting around outdoor living areas, or using anywhere a stunning plant is required. A mass planting produces an amazing display.
