Azalea Charlie is grown for its lovely form and profuse flowering. This hardy, evergreen shrub produces masses of large and ruffled, double, pink flowers from winter until late spring. It typically grows to 1.2 m tall and the same wide, growing best when planted in full sun or partial shade on a well-drained, sheltered site. Plants are tolerant of frost and cool climates but do require good soil moisture levels during dry periods and should be protected from harsh frost while establishing. When fertilising, avoid using lime as this will stunt or even kill plants. Azalea Charlie is a great choice for container growing, adding to a mixed and border planting, planting around outdoor living areas, or using anywhere a stunning plant is required. A mass planting produces an amazing display.
