Azalea Carnival Clown is grown for its lovely form and profuse flowering. This hardy, evergreen shrub produces masses of showy, pink flowers through spring. The single flowers are complemented with dark green foliage. It typically grows to 1 m tall and the same wide, performing best when planted in a semi-shade or full sun position on a well-drained, sheltered site. When grown in full sun it tends to be more compact. It is tolerant of frost and cold environments but does require good soil moisture levels during dry periods. When fertilising, avoid using lime as this will stunt or even kill plants. Azalea Carnival Clown is a great choice for adding to a mixed or border planting, planting around outdoor living areas such as pool and barbecue areas, including in cottage gardens, or using anywhere a stunning plant is required. Mass planting provides for an amazing display with this variety.
