Azalea Alphonse Anderson is grown for its lovely form and profuse flowering. This hardy, evergreen shrub produces masses of large and showy, two-tone pink flowers during spring. It typically grows to 1.2 m tall and the same wide, growing best when planted in full sun or partial shade on a well-drained, sheltered site. Plants are tolerant of frost and cool climates but do require good soil moisture levels during dry periods and should be protected from harsh frost while establishing. When fertilising, avoid using lime as this will stunt or even kill plants.
