Acacia Limelight in NZ is grown for its attractive foliage and form. It has soft, weeping, lime green foliage which is held on stems to give the appearance of a spreading mound. In spring, small, pale yellow, ball shaped flowers are borne amidst the foliage. It typically grows to 70 cm tall and 1 m wide, performing best when planted on a well-drained, sheltered site in full sun or partial shade. It is tolerant of frost, cool climates, and will grow well in coastal environments. Acacia Limelight is often used as an informal hedge, grown in a container, or added to mixed plantings. It looks outstanding when mass planted and allowed to spill over walls, paths, and the like, or when used as a specimen. This shrub is very popular with landscape designers across New Zealand.
