Acacia cognata Bower Beauty, commonly known as the Bower Wattle, is a shrub grown for its attractive foliage and great form. It features soft, mid-green foliage, which is held with a pendulous manner. Small, pale-yellow flowers are produced in spring but are generally regarded as not significant. This evergreen grows as a spreading mound to about 1 m tall and the same wide, performing best when planted on a well-drained site in full sun or partial shade. It is tolerant of moderate frost and will grow well in coastal environments though does benefit from having wind protection. Acacia cognata Bower Beauty is commonly used as an informal hedge, maintained in a container, included in a border or mixed planting, or planted around outdoor living areas. It looks outstanding when mass planted and allowed to spill over walls, paths, and the like. This is a lovely plant that will provide year-round pleasure.
