Sowing and Application Guidelines

For new lawns, Tall Fescue seed should be applied at 50 grams per square metre. If you’re over-sowing an existing lawn, increase the rate to 75 grams per square metre for best results. The ideal time to sow Tall Fescue is during late spring through summer, provided the soil is well-drained and irrigation is available. Germination and full establishment may take several weeks. During this period, it is important to control weeds, and we recommend using a selective herbicide such as TurfClean to manage unwanted growth.

Begin by encouraging any existing weeds to germinate, then spray with Glyphosate two or three times over several weeks prior to sowing. This step will reduce competition from unwanted grasses and help ensure even germination and coverage.
