Rose 'Sexy Rexy'

How to grow Rose 'Sexy Rexy' in NZ

Grow Rose 'Sexy Rexy' in full sun with fertile, free draining soil and good airflow. Select a site that receives at least six hours of sunshine daily to promote healthy foliage and plenty of flowers. Improve the planting area with compost, position the root ball level with the surrounding soil, and water deeply after planting. Keep the soil evenly moist while the rose establishes, particularly during warm and dry periods. Apply organic mulch around the base, keeping it clear of the stems, to conserve moisture and help suppress weeds.

Rose 'Sexy Rexy' care tips

Rose 'Sexy Rexy' benefits from regular feeding, deep watering, deadheading, and winter pruning for the best flowering performance. Apply a specialised rose fertiliser in spring and summer according to label directions. Water at soil level during dry weather so moisture reaches the roots without unnecessarily wetting the leaves. Remove spent flowers regularly to encourage a fresh flush of blooms through autumn. In winter, remove weak, damaged, and crossing stems, then shorten the remaining growth to maintain a compact, balanced plant with plenty of new flowering shoots.

Rose 'Sexy Rexy' size, spacing, and growth rate

Rose 'Sexy Rexy' usually grows about 90 cm tall and 70 cm wide, forming a neat, bushy shrub that is easy to include in a wide range of garden settings. Allow around 60 cm to 80 cm between plants for a full display while maintaining good airflow and access for care. Growth is moderate to vigorous in fertile soil with regular watering and feeding. The strongest growth occurs through spring and summer, while winter pruning encourages dense new growth and an abundance of flowering stems.
