Rose 'Pink Silk'

How to grow Rose 'Pink Silk' in NZ

Grow Rose 'Pink Silk' in a sunny position with fertile, free draining soil and good airflow. Plant so the root ball sits level with the surrounding soil, then water deeply to settle the roots. Keep the soil evenly moist while the plant establishes, particularly through warm and dry weather. Apply a layer of organic mulch around the base while keeping it clear of the stems. A site receiving at least six hours of direct sunlight each day will encourage strong flowering. Rose 'Pink Silk' can also be grown successfully in a large container filled with quality potting mix.

Rose 'Pink Silk' care tips

Rose 'Pink Silk' benefits from regular feeding, watering, and pruning to maintain healthy growth and strong flowering. Apply a specialised rose fertiliser in spring and repeat during the growing season according to label directions. Water deeply during dry periods, directing water to the soil rather than the foliage where possible. Remove spent blooms to encourage repeat flowering and keep the plant tidy. Prune in winter to remove weak, damaged, or crossing stems and shape the plant. Monitor for common rose pests and diseases through the season so any issues can be treated early.

Rose 'Pink Silk' size, spacing, and growth rate

Rose 'Pink Silk' typically forms a compact to medium sized shrub with a bushy, rounded habit. Mature plants commonly reach around 80 cm to 1.2 m tall and approximately 70 cm to 1 m wide. Space plants around 70 cm to 1 m apart to allow good airflow and room for the canopy to develop. Growth is moderate during spring and summer, with regular feeding, watering, and pruning helping maintain dense foliage and strong repeat flowering. Full sun and fertile, free draining soil support healthy growth and reliable flowering through the warmer months.
