Rose 'Pink Baby'

How to grow Rose 'Pink Baby' in NZ

Grow Rose 'Pink Baby' in full sun in fertile, well drained soil. Choose a position with at least six hours of direct sunlight daily and enough airflow to help keep foliage healthy. Mix compost into the soil before planting, position the rose at the same depth as it was in the pot, then water thoroughly. Keep the soil evenly moist while the plant establishes. Apply mulch around the base to conserve moisture and suppress weeds, keeping it away from the stems. A sunny well prepared site will support vigorous growth and plenty of flowers.

Rose 'Pink Baby' care tips

Rose 'Pink Baby' responds well to regular watering, feeding, and pruning. Water deeply during dry weather, particularly through the first growing season, and water the soil rather than the foliage where possible. Feed in spring and again after the first main flowering flush with a quality rose fertiliser. Remove spent flowers to encourage repeat blooming and keep the plant looking tidy. Prune in winter to remove dead, weak, or crossing stems and shape the bush. Refresh the mulch each year to retain moisture, improve the soil, and support healthy roots.

Rose 'Pink Baby' size, spacing, and growth rate

Rose 'Pink Baby' typically grows to around 60 cm to 80 cm tall and wide, forming a compact rounded shrub that is easy to accommodate in smaller gardens. Space plants about 70 cm to 80 cm apart for an attractive continuous display while allowing sufficient airflow. Growth is moderate in a sunny site with good soil preparation, regular moisture, and seasonal feeding. Plants become fuller as they establish, producing more flowering stems each season. Light pruning after flowering and a winter tidy will help Rose 'Pink Baby' retain its neat shape and encourage fresh growth.
