Rose 'Love Always'

How to grow Rose 'Love Always' in NZ

Grow Rose 'Love Always' in a sunny position with fertile, free draining soil and good airflow. Plant so the root ball sits level with the surrounding soil, then water deeply to settle the roots. Keep the soil evenly moist while the plant establishes, particularly through warm and dry weather. Apply a layer of organic mulch around the base while keeping it clear of the stems. A site receiving at least six hours of direct sunlight each day will encourage strong flowering. Rose 'Love Always' can also be grown successfully in a large container filled with quality potting mix.

Rose 'Love Always' care tips

Rose 'Love Always' benefits from regular feeding, watering, and pruning to maintain healthy growth and strong flowering. Apply a specialised rose fertiliser in spring and repeat during the growing season according to label directions. Water deeply during dry periods, directing water to the soil rather than the foliage where possible. Remove spent blooms to encourage repeat flowering and keep the plant tidy. Prune in winter to remove weak, damaged, or crossing stems and shape the plant. Monitor for common rose pests and diseases through the season so any issues can be treated early.

Rose 'Love Always' size, spacing, and growth rate

Rose 'Love Always' typically forms a compact to medium sized shrub with a bushy, balanced habit. Mature plants commonly reach around 80 cm to 1.2 m tall and approximately 60 to 90 cm wide. Space plants around 70 cm to 1 m apart to allow good airflow and room for the canopy to develop. Growth is moderate during spring and summer, with regular feeding, watering, and pruning helping maintain dense foliage and strong repeat flowering. Full sun and fertile, free draining soil support healthy growth and reliable flowering through the warmer months.

Landscaping uses for Rose 'Love Always'

Rose 'Love Always' is ideal for sunny borders, cottage gardens, pathways, entranceways, mixed garden beds, containers, and feature planting. Its repeated flowering brings reliable seasonal colour, while the bushy growth habit provides useful structure among lower growing plants. Plant in groups for greater visual impact, use as a focal point in a garden bed, or position near patios where the flowers can be appreciated closely. Rose 'Love Always' also suits decorative containers and formal planting schemes, making it a versatile choice for gardeners wanting classic rose character and a strong flowering presence.
