Rose 'Electron'

How to grow Rose 'Electron' in NZ

Grow Rose 'Electron' in a sunny position with fertile, free draining soil and good airflow. Plant so the root ball sits level with the surrounding soil, then water deeply to settle the roots. Keep the soil evenly moist while the plant establishes, particularly through warm and dry weather. Apply a layer of organic mulch around the base while keeping it clear of the stems. A site receiving at least six hours of direct sunlight each day will encourage strong flowering. Rose 'Electron' can also be grown successfully in a large container filled with quality potting mix.

Rose 'Electron' care tips

Rose 'Electron' benefits from regular feeding, watering, and pruning to maintain healthy growth and strong flowering. Apply a specialised rose fertiliser in spring and repeat during the growing season according to label directions. Water deeply during dry periods, directing water to the soil rather than the foliage where possible. Remove spent blooms to encourage repeat flowering and keep the plant tidy. Prune in winter to remove weak, damaged, or crossing stems and shape the plant. Monitor for common rose pests and diseases through the season so any issues can be treated early.

Rose 'Electron' size, spacing, and growth rate

Rose 'Electron' typically forms an upright, bushy shrub with strong flowering stems. Mature plants commonly reach around 1.2 to 1.5 m tall and approximately 60 to 90 cm wide. Space plants around 80 cm to 1 m apart to allow good airflow and room for the canopy to develop. Growth is moderate during spring and summer, with regular feeding, watering, and pruning helping maintain strong stems, healthy foliage, and repeat flowering. Full sun and fertile, free draining soil support the best growth and flower production.

Landscaping uses for Rose 'Electron'

Rose 'Electron' is ideal for sunny borders, cutting gardens, cottage gardens, pathways, entranceways, mixed garden beds, containers, and feature planting. Its vivid pink flowers provide strong seasonal colour and make an attractive focal point in garden displays. The long flowering stems are also excellent for picking and floral arrangements. Plant in groups for greater visual impact or use individually in a feature bed. Rose 'Electron' suits formal and relaxed garden styles where its upright habit and large flowers can be appreciated.
