Rose 'Bloomfield Abundance'

How to grow Rose 'Bloomfield Abundance' in NZ

Grow Rose 'Bloomfield Abundance' in full sun with fertile, free draining soil and good airflow. Choose a sheltered position that receives at least six hours of sunshine each day to encourage strong growth and abundant flowering. Improve the planting area with compost, set the root ball level with the surrounding soil, and water deeply after planting. Keep the soil evenly moist while the rose establishes, particularly during warm and dry weather. Apply organic mulch around the base, keeping it clear of the stems, to retain moisture, suppress weeds, and support healthy roots.

Rose 'Bloomfield Abundance' care tips

Rose 'Bloomfield Abundance' benefits from regular feeding, deep watering, deadheading, and winter pruning to maintain healthy growth and a generous flowering display. Apply a specialised rose fertiliser in spring and summer according to label directions. Water at soil level during dry periods, allowing moisture to soak deeply around the roots. Remove spent flower clusters regularly to encourage more blooms through autumn. In winter, prune out weak, damaged, and crossing stems, then shorten the remaining growth to form a balanced framework. Good airflow and regular monitoring help keep the foliage healthy and tidy.

Rose 'Bloomfield Abundance' size, spacing, and growth rate

Rose 'Bloomfield Abundance' typically grows about 1.2 m tall and 1.2 m wide, forming a rounded, bushy shrub with a generous garden presence. Allow around 1 m to 1.2 m between plants so each rose has room to develop naturally, maintains good airflow, and can be easily cared for. Growth is moderate to vigorous in fertile soil with regular watering and feeding, particularly through spring and summer. Winter pruning promotes fresh new growth and flowering stems. Its practical size makes Rose 'Bloomfield Abundance' ideal for borders, rose beds, and cottage gardens.
