How to grow Iceberg Roses in NZ

Plant Iceberg Roses in full sun with fertile, free-draining soil enriched with compost. Space plants to allow airflow and reduce the risk of disease. Water deeply during dry spells and mulch around the base to retain soil moisture. Feed in early spring and midsummer with a quality rose fertiliser to encourage prolific blooms. Prune in winter to shape and remove old wood.

Iceberg Roses care tips

Deadheading spent flowers regularly promotes continuous blooming. Monitor for pests such as aphids and treat promptly if needed. Keep foliage dry when watering to help prevent fungal issues. With regular feeding, mulching, and pruning, Iceberg Roses will remain healthy and flower abundantly. The 'Iceberg' Rose is known for its good disease resistance, making it relatively easy to grow. With regular watering, feeding, and deadheading, it will flourish and provide a reliable floral display year after year. Its compact size allows flexible placement in smaller urban gardens while still delivering a bold floral statement.

Iceberg Roses size, spacing, and growth rate

Bush Iceberg Roses typically grow 1–1.2 m tall and 80–100 cm wide. Space plants 80 cm–1 m apart for mass plantings or borders. Growth is moderate to fast under ideal conditions.
