“The Geisha” is a variety of Flowering Cherry that features masses of fragrant, rose-pink flowers in late winter. The showy, semi-double blooms are borne just before the foliage emerges. The leaves emerge light green, age to become a darker green, then develop colourful yellow, orange, and red tones in autumn before falling. It grows with a vase shape to about 4 m tall and 3 m wide, performing best when planted in full sun on a well-drained site. It is tolerant of frost, cool climates, and short periods of dry. “The Geisha” is a stunning tree and is commonly grown as a specimen, used in an avenue planting, added to a cottage garden, or included in a mixed planting.
