How to use Tree Guards

Place the Tree Guard around the young tree immediately after planting, ensuring the stem is centred and has enough room to grow. Secure the guard firmly with stakes so it remains upright in wind. Keep the base clear of weeds and check regularly that the guard is not rubbing against the trunk. Adjust or replace it as the tree grows. Remove the guard once the tree is established and no longer needs protection.

What is the usual life expectancy of these please?

A minimum of 12 months and after that it depends on how much rain and wind the site receives. I have seen them two years later still intact on a site and it was the bamboo that was deteriorating.
