Thymus Ruby Carpet is a variety of Creeping Thyme grown for both its foliage and flowers. The leaves on this evergreen are scented, small, and a fresh green colour. It produces masses of short spikes carrying fragrant, red flowers through summer which are great for attracting butterflies and the like. It grows to just 15 cm tall and 40 cm wide, performing best when planted on a well-drained site in full sun or partial shade. Thymus Ruby Carpet is commonly included in herb or cottage gardens, planted between pavers or rocks, used as a groundcover, or allowed to trail over a wall or the like. A mass planting looks spectacular with this variety of Thyme.
