Thymus citriodorus, commonly known as Lemon Thyme or Citrus Thyme, is an herbaceous perennial grown for both its foliage and flowers. The leaves on this evergreen are lemon scented, small, and dark green, sometimes also variegated. It produces lovely pink flowers during summer which transforms the plant and are great for attracting butterflies and the like. Thymus citriodorus grows to about 20 cm tall and 40 cm wide, performing best when planted on a well-drained site in full sun or partial shade. Lemon Thyme is commonly included in the herb garden, grown as an annual, used in cottage gardens, grown in a container, or mass planted for a spectacular display.
