Salvia Marcus is a variety of Sage grown for its spires of striking flowers through summer. The stems rise above the lush, grey-green foliage to bear plumes of small, blue flowers. The flowers are great for attracting bees, butterflies, and birds. It typically grows to 30 cm tall and 50 cm wide, performing best on a well-drained, sheltered site in full sun. It is frost hardy once established and does require good levels of moisture during dry periods. Salvia nemorosa Marcus is ideal for herb gardens, mixed plantings, cottage gardens, borders, or container growing. A mass planting really suits this plant and gives a very rewarding display.
