Salvia corrugata is an herbaceous perennial grown for its rich display of flowers through spring and summer. It produces flower spikes with masses of dark blue flowers that are very striking. The flowers sit neatly above the coarsely textured, dark green foliage and are great for attracting butterflies and small birds. It typically grows to 1.2 m tall and the same wide, performing best on a well-drained, sheltered site in full sun. It is frost hardy once established and does require good levels of moisture during dry periods. Salvia corrugata is ideal for mixed plantings and cottage. A mass planting really suits this plant and gives a very rewarding display.
