Rhodohypoxis Tetra Red is grown for its petite nature and lovely, small flowers. It produces star-shaped, rose-pink flowers through spring and summer. These are held above the short, strap-like, dark green leaves. It typically grows to just 10 cm tall and the same wide, performing best when planted in full sun or partial shade on a well-drained site. It is tolerant of frost, alpine conditions, wind, and dry periods. They may die back during winter but will grow again when conditions warm. Rhodohypoxis Tetra Red is commonly grown in a container, planted between pavers, or added to a rock garden. It is also well suited to growing indoors as potted plant during flowering.
