Polemonium caeruleum, commonly known as Jacobs Ladder, is grown for its foliage and flowers. This clump forming, herbaceous perennial produces lush, dark green fern-like foliage. During spring and summer, it produces masses of showy, deep blue flowers as it grows to 60 cm tall and the same wide. Polemonium caeruleum is commonly included in cottage gardens, shady areas, borders, woodland gardens, or mass planted.

Jacobs Ladder

Jacobs Ladder is the common name for Polemonium caeruleum, a clump forming, herbaceous perennial that is grown for its foliage and flowers. It produces lush, dark green fern-like foliage which becomes adorned during spring and summer with masses of showy, deep blue flowers. It typically grows to 60 cm tall and the same wide, performing best when grown in full sun on a well-drained, sheltered site. It will tolerate shade, frost, and cool climates and in these environments may die back to regrow again when conditions warm. Jacobs Ladder is commonly included in cottage gardens, shady areas, borders, woodland gardens, or mass planted.
