Brise d'Anjou Jacob's Ladder

Brise d'Anjou Jacob's Ladder is a variety of Polemonium and is grown for its foliage and flowers. This clump forming, herbaceous perennial produces lush, fern-like foliage that is edged with cream-yellow. During spring and summer, it produces masses of showy, violet-blue flowers in clusters atop 25 cm tall stems. It typically grows to 45 cm tall and the same wide, performing best when grown in full sun on a well-drained, sheltered site. It will tolerate frost and cool climates, and in these environments, may die back to regrow again when conditions warm. Brise d'Anjou Jacob's Ladder is commonly included in cottage gardens, borders, or mass planted.
