Penstemon Firebird

“Firebird” is an herbaceous perennial grown for its colourful and dainty flowers. It produces upright stems carrying numerous bell-shaped, red flowers from summer through autumn. The flowers provide amazing beauty and are great for attracting birds and butterflies. The foliage comprises fine, mid-green leaves which sit neatly below the flowers. It may remain evergreen in warmer climates but can die back in colder environments to regrow again in spring. It typically grows to 75 cm tall and the same wide, performing best when planted on a well-drained, sheltered site in full sun. It will tolerate moderate frost and requires constant moisture during dry periods. “Firebird” is perfect for borders and mixed plantings, cottage gardens, container growing, or mass planting for an outstanding display.
