Pelargonium capitatum Details

Pelargonium capitatum, commonly known as the Rose Geranium, is grown for its interesting foliage and bright pink flowers. The leaves on this evergreen shrub are crinkled and mid-green in colour. The stems are soft and coated in green, glandular hairs and brushing against the plant releases a copious scent of essential oils. The flowers are produced in summer through autumn. It typically grows to 75 cm tall and 1.5 m wide, performing best in full sun or partial shade on a well-drained, sheltered site. Pelargonium capitatum is commonly used as a groundcover, included in borders, added to mixed plantings, used in cottage gardens, or mass planted for an impressive display.
