Osteospermum Starry Eyes

“Starry Eyes” is an herbaceous perennial grown for its pretty flowers. It produces masses of large and showy, mauve and white flowers that have a distinctive pinwheel appearance. They are quite remarkable in their “unusualness” and become lighter in colour as they age. These are held above the rich green foliage from spring through summer. It typically grows to 60 cm tall and the same wide, performing best when planted on a well-drained, sheltered site in full sun. It is tolerant of short periods of dry and light frost only. “Starry Eyes” is commonly included in a border planting, used in cottage gardens, grown in a container, or mass planted for a stunning display. It makes a dramatic statement when planted alongside a set of steps or above a small retaining wall.
