Musella lasiocarpa, commonly known as the Golden Lotus Banana or Chinese Dwarf Banana, features large and broad, paddle-like, mid green leaves which are held upright as it grows to 1.5 m tall and wide. Through summer it produces a large and showy, Lotus-like, yellow flower atop a sturdy stem. Each flower is a cluster or tubular, flowers with waxy bracts and lasts for some time. Musella lasiocarpa is commonly included in a tropical garden where it is added to a mixed planting as a cluster or grown as a specimen. It also makes for a lovely accent to entranceways and the like.

Golden Lotus Banana

Golden Lotus Banana is the common name for Musella lasiocarpa, an interesting and unusual herbaceous perennial. It features large and broad, paddle-like, mid green leaves which are held upright.
