Kniphofia Peachy Cheeks is a variety of the commonly known, Red Hot Poker, selected for its flowers and form. This herbaceous perennial grows as a clump and produces thin, strap like, mid-green leaves. In summer, stems rise above the foliage carrying showy clusters of tubular, peach coloured flowers. The nectar in the flowers attracts birds as do the seed capsules following flowering. It typically grows to about 60 cm tall and 40 cm wide, growing best in full sun on a well-drained site. It will grow well in partial shade but at the expense of prolific flowering. It is tolerant of dry conditions, coastal environments, and frost.
