Kniphofia Orange Vanilla Popsicle, is a variety of the commonly known, Red Hot Poker, and like other varieties it features impressive flowers. This herbaceous perennial grows as a clump and produces thin, strap like, green leaves. Stems rise above the foliage during summer and autumn carrying showy clusters of tubular, orange and cream flowers. The nectar in the flowers attracts birds as do the seed capsules following flowering. It typically grows to about 50 cm tall and the same wide, growing best in full sun on a well-drained site. It will grow well in partial shade but at the expense of prolific flowering. It is tolerant of dry conditions, coastal environments, and frost.
