“Tiramisu Dinner Plate” is a variety of Japanese Water Iris that produces spectacular flowers. The large and showy, pink and white blooms are borne atop sturdy stems in spring and are great for attracting butterflies and other insects. The leaves are arching, narrow, blue-green, and grass like in appearance. This perennial typically grows to 30 cm tall and 20 cm wide with the flowers standing up to 65 cm tall. It performs best when positioned in full sun on a well-drained site and is tolerant of short periods of dry, frost, wetter soils, and cool climates. It will generally die back during these times to regrow when conditions start to warm. “Tiramisu Dinner Plate” is commonly included in cottage gardens, planted around outdoor living areas, used in border plantings, or planted around the base of deciduous trees and shrubs. A mass planting is a must with this variety to give impact.
