Hosta 'Twilight'

How to grow Hosta 'Twilight' in NZ

Hosta 'Twilight' grows best in partial to full shade with fertile, well drained soil that holds moisture. In NZ, it performs well in sheltered positions protected from strong sun and drying winds. Improve soil with compost before planting to enhance structure and moisture retention. Keep the soil consistently moist, especially during warmer months. Mulching helps retain moisture and keeps the root zone cool for steady growth.

Hosta 'Twilight' care tips

Hosta 'Twilight' is low maintenance and thrives with regular watering during dry periods. Apply a general fertiliser in spring to support strong healthy growth. Remove any damaged or old leaves to maintain a tidy appearance. Watch for slugs and snails, which can damage foliage. Dividing clumps every few years helps maintain vigour and allows you to expand your planting.

Hosta 'Twilight' typically grows to around 40 to 50 cm tall and spreads to about 60 to 70 cm wide. It has a moderate growth rate and forms a dense clump over time.
