Hosta 'Queen Josephine'

How to grow Hosta 'Queen Josephine' in NZ

Hosta 'Queen Josephine' performs best in partial shade or full shade with fertile, well drained soil that remains evenly moist. Improve the soil with compost before planting to encourage healthy root development. Water regularly while the plant establishes and during extended dry periods. Apply mulch each spring to conserve moisture, suppress weeds, and keep the roots cool for vigorous healthy growth.

Hosta 'Queen Josephine' care tips

Hosta 'Queen Josephine' is simple to maintain once established. Feed with a quality slow release fertiliser in spring to encourage lush foliage and strong growth. Remove damaged or ageing leaves to keep the plant tidy and cut back the foliage after it naturally dies down in autumn. Check for slugs and snails during spring and protect fresh growth if required.
