Hosta Purple Heart features lush foliage and pretty flowers. The foliage comprises lime-green leaves held on dark stems. Violet-purple flowers are borne atop short stems during summer and are followed by seed heads that attract birds. This herbaceous perennial typically grows to 30 cm tall and 70 cm wide, and in cold climates it may die off during winter to regrow again when conditions warm. It grows best when planted in full sun or partial shade on a well-drained, sheltered site. It is tolerant of frost and cool climates but should not be allowed to dry out.
