Hosta Minuteman Details

Hosta Minuteman is grown for its attractive and variegated foliage. The bold and glossy leaves are dark green with a white-cream margin. Bell-shaped, lilac flowers are borne in summer above the foliage and are followed by seed heads which are great for attracting birds. This herbaceous perennial typically grows to about 50 cm tall and 60 cm wide. It may die back during winter but will regrow again when conditions warm in spring. It grows best when positioned in full sun or partial shade on a well-drained, sheltered site that does not dry out. It is tolerant of moderate frost but will benefit from being protected while it is establishing. Hosta Minuteman is commonly mass planted as a groundcover, included in borders, grown in a container, used in tropical and cottage gardens, or planted around outdoor living areas. A mass planting gives an impressive display.
