Hosta 'Loyalist'

How to grow Hosta 'Loyalist' in NZ

Hosta 'Loyalist' grows best in partial to full shade with fertile, well drained soil that is rich in organic matter. In NZ, it performs well in sheltered positions protected from strong sun and drying winds. Prepare the soil with compost before planting to improve moisture retention and structure. Keep the soil consistently moist, especially during summer. Applying mulch will help retain moisture and keep the root zone cool.

Dividing clumps every few years helps maintain vigour and allows you to expand your planting.
