Hosta Little Sunspot is a petite variety grown for its golden yellow leaves which have a bold, deep green edge. Bell-shaped, lilac flowers rise above the foliage during summer. This herbaceous perennial typically grows to only 12 cm tall and 25 cm wide and in cold climates it may die off during winter to regrow again in spring. Hosta Little Sunspot is commonly used as a ground cover, added to borders, maintained in a container, included in tropical and cottage gardens, or mass planted on a bank or the like.

Hosta Little Sunspot Details

Hosta Little Sunspot is a petite variety grown for its golden yellow leaves which have a bold, deep green edge. Bell-shaped, lilac flowers rise above the foliage during summer and are followed by seed heads that are great for attracting birds. This herbaceous perennial typically grows to only 12 cm tall and 25 cm wide and in cold climates it may die off during winter to regrow again in spring. It grows best in a full sun or partial shade position on a well-drained, sheltered site. It is tolerant of frost and cold climates but should not be allowed to dry out. Hosta Little Sunspot is commonly used as a ground cover, added to borders, maintained in a container, included in tropical and cottage gardens, or mass planted on a bank or the like.
