How to grow Hosta 'Little Sunspot' in NZ

Hosta 'Little Sunspot' grows best in partial to full shade with moist, well drained soil rich in organic matter. In NZ, it prefers sheltered spots protected from strong sun and drying winds. Prepare the soil with compost before planting to improve moisture retention. Keep the soil evenly moist, especially during warmer months. Mulch around the plant to retain moisture and keep the root zone cool for best results.

Hosta 'Little Sunspot' is low maintenance and easy to care for. Water regularly during dry periods to keep foliage vibrant. Apply a general fertiliser in spring to support healthy growth. Remove damaged or old leaves to maintain a tidy appearance. Watch for slugs and snails which can affect the leaves. Dividing clumps every few years helps maintain vigour and allows you to expand your planting areas.
