Hosta 'Earth Angel'

How to grow Hosta 'Earth Angel' in NZ

Hosta 'Earth Angel' performs best in partial shade or full shade with rich, well drained soil that retains moisture. Improve the soil with compost before planting and water regularly while the plant establishes. Apply mulch each spring to conserve moisture and keep the roots cool. Feed with a quality fertiliser during spring to encourage vigorous growth and lush foliage throughout the growing season.

Hosta 'Earth Angel' care tips

Hosta 'Earth Angel' is easy to care for with regular watering during dry periods and a spring application of slow release fertiliser. Remove damaged or ageing leaves as required and tidy the plant once the foliage dies back in autumn. Check for slugs and snails during spring when fresh growth appears, as early protection will keep the foliage looking its best.

Hosta 'Earth Angel' size, spacing, and growth rate

Hosta 'Earth Angel' develops into a large clump reaching about 60 to 70 centimetres tall with a spread of 100 to 120 centimetres. It grows steadily each season and becomes increasingly impressive as it matures.
