Hosta Blue Mammoth is grown for its lush and attractive foliage. The bold and glossy leaves are powdery blue with a chiffon-like texture. The foliage is complemented with lavender coloured flowers through summer. This herbaceous perennial typically grows to 1 m tall and 1.6 m wide. It may die back during winter but will regrow again when conditions warm in spring. It grows best when positioned in full sun or partial shade on a well-drained, sheltered site that does not dry out. It is tolerant of moderate frost but will benefit from being protected while it is establishing. The Blue Mammoth Hosta is commonly mass planted as a groundcover, included in borders, used in tropical gardens, or planted around outdoor living areas. A mass planting gives an impressive display.
