Hosta Aphrodite is a stunning variety that features lush green leaves and lovely flowers. Large, pure white, fragrant flowers are borne atop 60 cm stems during summer which are followed by seed heads that are great for attracting birds. This herbaceous perennial will grow to about 50 cm tall and 80 cm wide, performing best when planted in full sun on a well-drained, sheltered site. In cold climates it may die back during winter but will regrow again in spring. Hosta Aphrodite is commonly used as a ground cover, included in border plantings, maintained in a container, planted around the pool or barbecue area, used in tropical or cottage gardens, or added to “white” gardens. A mass planting will give an impressive display.
