Geranium himalayense Gravetye is grown for its foliage and delicate flowers. This herbaceous perennial carries soft looking, mid-green leaves. The small flowers produced from summer through autumn are single, violet-blue with red veins. It typically grows to 50 cm tall and 60 cm wide, growing best in full sun or partial shade on a well-drained, sheltered site. This Geranium is tolerant of moderate frost, dry periods, and shade. The spreading and dense nature of Geranium himalayense Gravetye makes it ideal as a groundcover but it is also suited to border planting, rock gardens, borders, cottage garden, and growing in a container.
