Farfugium japonicum Giganteum

Tractor Seat Plant

Farfugium japonicum Giganteum features large and glossy, dark green leaves. Stems emerge during summer bearing clusters of orange-yellow, daisy like flowers. This herbaceous perennial typically grows to 75 cm tall and the same wide, performing best when planted in full sun or partial shade on a well-drained site that does not dry out. It should be protected from frost while establishing, though once established it can tolerate a light frost. Heavier frosts may defoliate the plant, but it will generally regrow again in spring if the damage is not too severe. Farfugium Giganteum is often included in a tropical garden, masse planted for a stunning display, or used in pool and modern gardens.
