Erigeron karvinskianus, commonly known as Mexican Fleabane, is a fast-spreading perennial often used as groundcover or to soften walls and paths. In New Zealand it is classed as an invasive species in some regions, where it can smother native plants and natural habitats. Because of this risk, it is prohibited from sale, propagation, and distribution in many parts of the country.
