Digitalis purpurea variety of the commonly known, Foxglove, produces a large spike that carries masses of pendulous, bell shaped flowers coloured purple-pink. The spike emerges from a rosette of mid-green leaves in summer as it grows to 70 cm tall and 30 cm wide. Digitalis purpurea is a great plant for cottage and courtyard gardens, mixed plantings, and for under-planting larger trees and shrubs. Please note that all parts of this plant are poisonous.
