Convolvulus 'Blue Lake' (Blue Morning Glory Plant)

Growing Convolvulus 'Blue Lake' successfully in NZ

To grow Convolvulus 'Blue Lake' successfully in New Zealand, choose a sunny, sheltered spot with well-drained soil. This fast-growing climber requires support, such as a trellis or fence, to climb over. Water regularly during establishment, then reduce as it becomes more drought-tolerant. Prune lightly after flowering to control growth and encourage more blooms. It performs best with good air circulation and minimal fertiliser, making it a great low-maintenance option for vibrant, vertical colour.

Convolvulus 'Blue Lake' care tips

Convolvulus 'Blue Lake' is a low-maintenance plant. Plant in full sun with well-drained soil and provide a support structure for the plant to climb. Water the plant regularly while it establishes, then only during dry spells. Prune after flowering to manage its size and encourage further blooming. It thrives in warm, sheltered areas and is relatively drought-tolerant once established. Avoid heavy feeding, and mulch around the base to retain moisture and suppress weeds without crowding the stem.

Plant Size and Spacing for Convolvulus 'Blue Lake' (Blue Morning Glory Plant)

Convolvulus 'Blue Lake' is a vigorous climber that can reach 3 to 4 metres in height and spread. Space plants about 1 to 1.5 metres apart if planting along a fence or trellis.
