Clivia 'Yellow'

How to grow Clivia 'Yellow' in NZ

Clivia 'Yellow' grows best in partial shade or full shade with fertile free draining soil enriched with organic matter. Avoid planting in hot afternoon sun as this can damage the foliage. Water regularly while plants establish, then only during extended dry periods. A sheltered position protected from severe frost will help plants thrive and produce reliable flowering each season.

Clivia 'Yellow' care tips

Clivia 'Yellow' benefits from occasional feeding during spring with a quality slow release fertiliser to encourage healthy foliage and flowering. Remove spent flower stems once blooming has finished and tidy away any damaged leaves as required. Avoid excessive watering during winter as plants prefer slightly drier conditions while preparing to flower. Divide mature clumps only when necessary to maintain vigour.

Clivia 'Yellow' size, spacing, and growth rate

Clivia 'Yellow' typically grows to about fifty centimetres tall and sixty centimetres wide, gradually forming dense clumps over time. Space plants about fifty to sixty centimetres apart to allow room for development and good air movement. Growth is moderate, with plants becoming fuller each year and producing increasing numbers of flower stems as they mature.

Landscaping uses for Clivia 'Yellow'

Clivia 'Yellow' is perfect for brightening shaded borders, woodland gardens, courtyards, and beneath established trees where few flowering plants perform well.
